Preferred Compounding de Mexico to Double Capacity

preferredmexicofront2BARBERTON, OHIO – Preferred Compounding will double capacity and employment at its plant in Central Mexico by the spring of 2015, the company announced today. Preferred’s Board of Directors approved capital for an expansion which will include a second Farrel F-270 Tangential variable speed mixer and an in-line gear pump strainer.

The announcement comes 16 months after commissioning of the first Farrel F-270 at the 66,000 square-foot plant in the city of San Luis Potosi and 24 months after Preferred purchased the operation from Iacp Jevsa of Barcelona, Spain in July of 2012.

Preferred Compounding Customers Get 24/7 Access to Compound Quality Data

It’s part of the continuously evolving Open Compounding culture and practices at the custom compounder, which has four facilities in the United States and Mexico.

SAN LUIS POTOSI, SLP, MEXICO-Preferred Compounding de Mexico is quadrupling capacity at its custom compounding facility in Central Mexico and plans to add as many as two dozen employees during 2013, company officials announced during a grand opening ceremony Thursday with the local state governor as an honored guest.

The wholly owned subsidiary of Preferred Compounding has installed and is commissioning a Farrel F-270 Tangential variable speed mixer identical to the unit at its facility in Huntingdon, Tennessee.

Preferred Compounding Acquires Rubber Mixing Business in Mexico

Company executives announced today they have purchased JevsaMex, the Mexican compounding operation of Iacp Jevsa of Barcelona, Spain. The 66,000 square-foot facility is in the city of San Luis Potosi in central Mexico. BARBERTON, OHIO – Four years of improvements have Preferred Compounding charging into 2010 with strong fundamentals and a well-provisioned tool set for meeting the needs of manufacturers that use custom compounded elastomers. Preferred Rubber names Kenneth L. Bloom as president and CEO

Barberton, OH — Preferred Rubber today announced the appointment of Kenneth L. Bloom as president and CEO. Bloom is a former President of Associated Materials Incorporated (Siding, Windows and Metal Products Division). Timothy Eburne, current CEO and president, moves to Chairman of the company. Eburne is a partner in Watermill Ventures, of which Preferred is a portfolio company.

At AMI, Bloom played a key role in growing AMI sales from $432MM to $1.1 billion in just over four years, through both organic growth and acquisition. Prior to general management positions, Bloom held various positions in sales and manufacturing. His management style emphasizes employee involvement and a strong customer focus.
